In this article we will show you the simple but basic steps to build web pages from the easiest one—static web pages. Some fundamental functions of Dreamweaver8.0 will appear. Now let us start. Go.
First the essential step is to build a site to save your designing web pages. After running dreamweaver8.0, click “manage sites” button, then a window will appear.
Then left click “new” button, follow up the automatic steps and you can build a new site to save your web pages, including pictures, links and so on. The last window is like this.
Left-click “Done” button.
Finally, A site is built now. This site can be called “my company”. Now that all is ready, you can start designing you own web pages. If you neglect this step, you will be upset when you at last find that you cannot save the web pages full of your energy and time. So this step mustn’t be neglected.
Now let us start designing a simple web page.
Firstly, you need to layout the whole pages. You can use form or frame to do it. Left click the form icon, and there will be a form window appearing. Choose the appropriate number of row, the thickness of frame and cell. If you want to design a diaphanous and attracting page, please mind your details. For example the thickness of frame and cell will affect the beauty of the page. And choosing the appropriate distance between forms and cells is also a very important detail.
In the form, you can input words and pictures. When you switch to the code window, you can rework or design dynamic pages. We will introduce it later. Put some words and pictures to form a fundamental page. Now let’s input “welcome to my world” and a picture named “chair”
Then after inputting words and pictures, you still need to left click “attribute” to set and perfect the page. Change the size of the picture to full of the whole cell, and change the style of words to middle them.
At last a simple static web page is ready to run. Press “F12” button to preview the page. As the following picture..
