In the last article, we have learned how to insert forms to connect visitors with the web. But it isn’t enough that we just communicate with customers with the form, the text, and the textfield. Some information we can’t design by them. For example, when you want to build lists or admit visitors to choose their sex? What should we do? While, where there are problems there are ways to solve them. In Dreamweaver8.0 we can insert buttons, checkbox, list and menu without editing codes. Now let us learn how to achieve these impacts.
First, insert radio buttons. Open the last document that we designed in the last article. Set focus on the fifth row and the first column, putting “sex” into it. Then set focus on the same row and the second column, and select the INSERT—FORM—RADIOBUTTON command to insert radio button, at the right of which you can input “male”. Then by the same way you can create the other radio button. At the right of it, you can input “female”.
Second, insert checkboxes. Set focus on the seventh row, inputting “interest”. Then set focus on the second column, select INSERT—FORM—CHECKBOX command to insert checkboxes, at the right of which you can input “drawing” “writing” and so on. It is same with the inserting ways of radio buttons.
Third, insert lists. Set focus on the sixth row. Put “age” into it. Then set focus on the second column, select INSERT—FORM—LIST/MENU command to insert the list. Later we need set the properties for the list. Select the list, and click the List values in the properties inspector. You can add the list items in the list values dialog box.
Fourth, insert buttons. Set focus on the right place, and select INSERT—FORM—BUTTON command, inserting two buttons. Then set the button properties. You can change the value of the button like the following picture shows.
OK, save the document and preview it. You must have mastered these techniques!!
