In the last article we have learn how to create a template. You know we can build a website efficiently by using a template. Now we can use the template created in the last article to build some web pages, which make up the same style web pages. OK, attentions please, let us begin.
|
Step1:
Select the FILE—NEW command, open the new document dialog box, in which you can select the “templates” and “site “my company”– moban”. Click the Create button, creating a template web pages/.
|
Step2:
Set focus on the editable region. Select the INSERT—FORM command, inserting a three-row and two-column table. In the first column, you can insert two columns. Put a picture in the first column. And put some words to explain the picture. Of course, you must have a plan for how to lay the web pages. The picture and the words of course should have something to do with your website. Like the following picture show:
|
Step3:
Set focus on the second column. Put the picture named “rose” in the second column. This is a flowers shop so we need to introduce the flowers. After the picture named “rose”, you can insert some words. But you may find some difficult to put texts in it because there has already a picture in the cell. So to insert the text, we can use layers. Select the INSERT—LAYER command to insert a layer, and put texts in the layer, you can easily lay the cell. The effect is like this:
|
Step4:
You can insert other pictures to fill the blank space. After build the whole pages, save it and preview.
Now a template page is ready. Have you found something different? Yeah, the top region cannot be edited. This is the wonderful point. The final effect is like the first picture in this article, yet yours can be different from mine.

Very nice tutorial and explanation of Dreamweaver and how to use it.
Glad I found this series. I’m toying with the idea of getting Dreamweaver for some future projects and some of the complications (templates) ahead of other systems (SBI/XSP) are a bit of a turn-off. That said, as you’ve proven, there’s ample resources out there!
