With the help of mask tool, making a gradual change onto the figure is like a piece of cake for most photoshop learners. But today we will further this kind of skills, adding some integrated information to it, and in the following tutorial,we will learn to make such effect with some other materials, a little more complicated one. And this time we will use grain material to merge the two layers together and produce this effect. Curious about that? Now let’s see the imoression drawing and the secret of making it.

1. First open the body layer(layer 0), copy and hide it (layer 1). Select layer 0 and execute the following steps: filter → blur → smart blur, remember the radius is 19.2 and the threshold is 34.2, and the picture should be with high quality.

2. Then choose black color for its color range: the value of color tolerance is 151. Delete it and then invert with the keys Ctrl +Shift + I and fulfil black color to it.

3. Add the layer and lead in the background material– the so called grain material. Before doing with this material, we will do some preparation: choose layer 0 and set the fill area attribute as 70%, then make the layer 1 visible and add the layer mask to it. Next we should select gradient and set the direction as follows. This step is very familiar to us as it is like the step of the pure mask skill.

4. Then we will merge the two layers and change the figure size and get our final product. Don’t you think it is a little like a fabulous film post? It has not been a secret any more. Well, try it by yourself now!
