In many cases, photoshop has played an important role, we have done different kinds of photographic effects, we have produced a lot of special figures. However, there is still someone who is doubting whether it can make natural things as it is a computer tool after all. In today’s tutorial, we will see. We will learn to make a lifelike snail in it and it is much like a photo that you take in the nature instead of a man made photo. Not believe? Wait and see! Here’s the impression drawing.
1. Build a 450*400 document. Create the first layer and reset the color panel with the D key. Then draw a straight line with 13-pixel-size brush in the centre. Then execute the twirl effect with 800-degree angle. Do that again with the key CTRL + F.
2. Erase the left line from our to in, modify the centre part with the pen tool. You should be patient with that. Then draw a curl to make the helix part close with stroke path of one pixel brush and then erase the rest part.
3. Choose the magic wand and set the tolerance as o, select the helix part part and create a new layer and name it shell and then pad the suitable color.
4. Load the screw thread pattern and choose the modification to extend one pixel. Hide the shell layer and layer 1.
5. Then add the figure for the shell. Open the path and build alpha 1 with pad 50% grey color. Execute the grain effect with blocking mode. Then remove the color with the keys CTRL + SHIFT + U and execute crystal effect with 10 pixels. Set the tolerance for 5 pixels.
6. Execute the similarity effect and create a new layer with the brown color foreground.
7. Free transform the pattern with the keys CTRL + T, and it seems to be smaller and tighter. Copy this layer and revolve.
8. Load the figure layer into the opaque district of the shell layer and select the opposition option and delete.
9. We can divide the shell district into 4 parts and load into the shell in turn. Then choose them and modify it respectively with burn tool and dodge tool.
10. Create a new layer and outline the snail with the pen tool and pad the light brown color.
11. Create a new layer onto the snail body and draw a rectangular district with deeper brown color and execute the stained glass effect with 4-pixel size, 4 thickness and 1 brightness.
12. Then use different kinds of effect such as free transformation and revolution to make the picture suitable. And erase the needless part.
13. Then draw some white spots with the brush onto the body to make it more true.
14. Create a new layer and draw the eyes and the tentacle with padding deep brown color. And you can also draw some white spots. Then apply the blur effect where connects to the body.
15. Outline the tail with the same way. Look, is it like a lifelike snail. And you can also add the light green color background with linear gradient.
