As we all know, Chinese peony is a very beautiful kind of flower, and it is very popular among the old and the young, for they always buy them to give others as a gift and a bless. But today, we will not to buy it at all. We will try to draw one for our dear. We will continue to focus on the mouse portrait and use other auxiliary skills to make the technique perfect.

Make the black-and-white color Chinese peony(the impression drawing is below)

1. Create a white color canvas with 700*530 size, 96 resolution ratio. Open the paths panel and add another three paths, together four. Name them respectively: petal 1, petal 2, leaves, branch. Then draw the following paths with the pen tool. The 4 shapes as follows is only for your reference.

2. Click the petal 1 path and back to layer palette to create a new layer with the name petal 1. Convert it to the electoral district with the keys CTRL + ENTER, padding light grey color(#C8C8C8), and the make some highlight effect and shadow part with dodge tool and burn tool. Then copy chop mode as follows.

3. Create a new layer with the name flower heart. Spot the flower heart with hard brush of 5 pixels. Then execute the bevel and emboss effect: the size is 3 pixels, the angle of the shade is 128, the height is 16, with toothed contour line and 40 opaqueness.

4. Create a new layer of petal 2 and apply the same way as petal 1 to copy the chop mode. Then adjust the size and angle of the petals to make the flower more completed. Then merge all the layers.

5. Copy the layer above, reduce the size and move it on the upper right.

6. Convert the leaves layer to the electoral district and apply the radial gradients effect.

7. Delete the electoral district with the keys CTRL + D. Load the leaves path and elect the edge of the leaf and delete with tools. Here is the effect.

8. Build a branch layers like the former layers and pad black color. Execute the note paper effect: the image balance is 25, the particle size is 16 and the highlight is 10.

9. Enhance the contrast and make some stereo effect with dodge tool and burn tool. Then adjust the color gradation of the leaves to make highlight and shadow effect.

10. You can download the brush with butterfly pattern to add some decorative figure on the picture. We make it! Is it beautiful?

Here we will introduce two ways to draw the Chinese peony—- the black-and-white color and the colorful one. Here we go!

Make the colorful Chinese peony(the impression drawing is below)

1. Create a new layer with pink color. Draw a petal with lasso tool. Remember to draw the commonness of the flower in order to copy, then Pad white color.

2. Pad red color and apply the gradient tool, then execute the edge detect with white color of 1 pixel.

3. Then draw the turn-up part of the petal with the lasso tool, then pad white color, next red color with gradation, also edged with white color.

4. After finishing the petal, copy and transform it as you like. Continue to copy and transform the petals. Set the size, angle and the position of every petal, and apply a little perspective effect to make an intact flower.

5. Turn up the edges of the flower like the way we do for a single petal. Then draw the stamen part with a certain brush tool of yellow color.

6. Create a new layer and portrait the leaves part with the pen tool and modify them with dodge tool and burn tool to make them more natural.

7. In the mixed mode, we put color on the leaves. This step is for your own favourite, and the following color is just for your reference. Then merge the leaves layer and the flower layer. Adjust the size and the position to connect naturally.

8. Then we can draw some other Chinese peony in the same way, and change the color and size to make the picture much richer. At last, you can also spray some black color in the down right, then use dodge tool and burn tool to add some sense of hierarchicy as a blur mountain pattern. See? Finished!

1. Create a new layer and name it bougie. Outline the electoral district with pen tool and pad blue color. Then make the irregular district on the right part with eraser. Then use dodge tool to do some subtracteve effect. And execute the Gauss blur with 2 pixels.

2. Create a new layer. Outline the shape of the bougie and pad blue color. Adjust the top and side with dodge tool and the bottom and the middle with burn tool. Spray some purple and red color on the top of the bougie.

3. Draw a deep-blue-color oral above the bougie. Set the padding of the advance blending: the opaqueness should be reduced to 25%. Choose the bevel and emboss: nether direction, 7-pixel size, 11 soft and deep blue color.

4. Create the fire layer. Choose deep blue color to draw the wax under the heart of bougie. Draw the heart of the bougie with black color. Outline the shape of the fire with white color. Then add the inner glow with light yellow color. Then spray the purple and red color under the fire. Then merge these layers to the bougie layer.

5. Erase the fire overlapped by the glass mouth. You can spray some purple and red color as the reflection of the fire. However, if you do not want to destroy the glass mouth, you can also choose the upside of the fire and copy it on the layer of the glass mouth. Now as the desk seems a little brighter, you can adjust the brightness and contrast. Choose the table cloth with magic wand and feather it with about 1.5 pixels. Today we will still focus on the learning of mouse portrait, as it is a very powerful skill to make a fantastic picture. In this tutorial, we will learn how to draw the glass and the bougie. The way to make a glass is a bit difficult, for it needs to produce the effect of light reflection and we have to make it according to the background color and the integral color of the picture. The rest part will be much easier. So we will divide them into two parts. Here is the impression drawing and let’s begin to make it at once.

Make the transparent glass with a certain background

1. Build a new document with white color background. Create a new layer with white color and execute the clouds filter effect. Copy this layer. Back to the layer 1 and execute the emboss effect: the angle is -45, the height is 2 and the quantity is 500%. Then produce the Gauss blur with 2 pixel radius. Next convert to the transfer mode and add the mask. After resetting the color panel, we can use linear gradient with 25% opaqueness. Then merge these layers and name it desk.

2. Create a new layer and draw a rectangular district with dark green foreground color and black background color, then execute the clouds filter effect. Then use spray gun to draw some dark purple.

6. Change the opaqueness of the body to 12%. Create a new layer to draw some shadow where the bougie is lighting with the spray gun. Then modify the opaqueness with the eraser.

7. Create a new layer to load the transparent district of the glass body, and pad light grey color. Make the electoral district a bit upward and delete. Set the inner glow layer style: one pixel size, black color. Then add the shadow effect: the opaqueness is 50% , the distance is 2 and the size is 2. Spray the district with black and green color. Then change to the white color to produce the highlight part.

1. Create a background layer with light yellow color, then build a new layer and outline the eye part with the pen tool, and also convert it to the electoral district with the keys CTRL + ALT + D, next you should feature it with one pixel and pad the color #7F7665. We will learn to make a lifelike snail in it and it is much like a photo that you take in the nature instead of a man made photo. Not believe? Wait and see! Here’s the impression drawing.

1. Build a 450*400 document. Create the first layer and reset the color panel with the D key. Then draw a straight line with 13-pixel-size brush in the centre. Then execute the twirl effect with 800-degree angle. Do that again with the key CTRL + F.

2. Erase the left line from our to in, modify the centre part with the pen tool. You should be patient with that. Then draw a curl to make the helix part close with stroke path of one pixel brush and then erase the rest part.

Yes, coloring plays a very important role in compounding pictures. When you formulate a perfect color scheme, the compounding skills would be very fabulous and finally become a unique picture. Now let’s see the magic.

1. Open the cloud material and drag it into the picture, and adjust its position with the keys Ctrl +T. Then set the values in the layer style: the color of blend if is grey, and the value of next layer is 141.

2. Select a block of cloud, copy it and adjust its position and put it on the dome. Then select the layer style: the values of the next layer are 46/217. Next seal the layer. Then open the balloon layer and change it to the color mode and adjust the color and the opaqueness of the balloon.

3. Seal the layer and convert to the CMYK color, then choose the green channel, set the soft mode with the 50% opaqueness; the set of red channel is multiply mode with 50% opaqueness; the set of yellow channel is soft light mode with opposition effect and 100% opaqueness.

4. Back to the RGB channel and choose the green channel and apply the blue channel to the green one, use the filter mode with 40% opaqueness.

5. Create a color balance layer and set the values: the shadow color balance with the color gradation is -22, 0, +44; the middle tone with 0, -6, -17; the highlight with +5, 0, -5. Then we seal the layer and use usm sharpening: the quantity is 25%, and the radius ia 31.9 pixels and the threshold is 2.

6. Open the curves adjustment layer and choose contrast stretch in the preinstall column. Create the selective color adjustment layer: the yellow color setting is -20%(green), 0%(carmine), -30%(yellow) and -27%(black); the red color setting is -12%(green), 0%(carmine), -15%(yellow) and -13%(black). Then pad the black in the mask and erase the face of the body with white brush and make the final effect.
