Photoshop Tutorial: How To Make Beautiful Hair With Brush Tool

It is apparent that brush tool plays an very important role in the aspect of mouse portrait. Commanding the skills of brush tool have become the key to the success of the image. In this tutorial, we will consolidate the brush tool skill, and the object is the human hair this time. Compared with other things, making hair is a very detailed and complicated process, but with the brush tool, the work will not seem that difficult. Now let’s begin! The following is impression drawing.

1. Create a new layer of 20*20 size, transparent color with the keys CTRL + T. Enlarge the layer to the maximum with the zoom tool. Then choose the brush tool with 1 pixel, draw several spots on the canvas. Remember that the spots should not be overlapped.

2. Click the edit menu bar, and define the fore-mentioned pattern as a brush style. After making the brush pattern, we begin to portrait the hair.

3. Create a new layer of 500*400 size, with 65-pixel feather brush tool, color of R98, G69, B12. Create a new layer and drag the line on the canvas at random.

4. Create a new layer and adjust the space between of self-made brush to 1%, with color of R164, G97, B11. Then draw a following line on the canvas.

5. Then right click the menu on this layer, set the mixed model and set the layer style: the shadow style, multiply mixed model , the angle is 94, the space is 4 pixels, the size is 3 pixels.

6. Create a new layer, and weaken the background color. Then repeat the former step to change the transparency of the shadow to 28%.

7. Create a new layer with black color and set as the bottom layer. Create a new layer with 1-pixel brush, color of R204, G123, B18. And drag some lines randomly.

8. Create a new layer and set the value of layer style: the transparency of the layer is 20%. Choose the brush tool of the 65-pixel brush, black color. And click on the place where the hair needs the shadow.

9. Create a new layer and change the transparency to 50% and repeat the former step. And merge all the layers. Execute the blur effect where the hair part is close to the background.

10. Sharpen the several front hairs a little to make it more natural and finally we make it!

Since we have already learned several skills about the effects of the brush tool in previous post How To Make Several Classical Effects Using The Brush Tool (1), today we will continue last time’s tutorial and cover two other effects, which will make us grasp these skills more proficiently.

Make a figure at first. Then pad a half-transparent layer, and merge them to make a lacy figure. Execute the order of defining the brush.

Open the panel and set the some values of the brush tool. That is, the brush tape shape is level and smooth, the use of sample size is 45 pixels, the space between is 70%, the size jitter is 15% and angle jitter is 5%.

Use pen tool to portrait the path of the lesbian and then execute the order of stroke path and choose the brush. Eliminate the redundant part and then comes the impression drawing.

Photoshop Tutorial —- How To Make Several Classical Effects Using The Brush Tool (1)

In the Photoshop environment, grasping the use of the brush tool can help you to deal with a lot of situation in making a certain pattern, ranging from modifying the picture to focusing on some details, which makes the picture more sophisticated and professional. Moreover, it’s one of the basic skills to improve your understanding of the application of the Photoshop. 1.The texture of the needlework

Press the SHIFT key and use the brush to draw irregular lines vertically as the line of needlework and name it as the brush. Then set the brush as the following main steps: the minimal diameter is 15%, the control is direction, the space between is 124%.

Choose the material you wanted and select the white area to make the operating path.

Select the stroke path and choose the brush to draw the line.

Then use the dodge tool and burn tool and set the value: both of the range and sensitometory are middle tone and 100%. Make the whole path move to the look down left to deepen it and then move to the top left and dilute, both making them more stereo.

Change the inside color of the needlework to complete the effect of the texture work. Then comes to our impression drawing.

Open the pull-down menu of the brush to execute the order of calligraphic brush and set the brush by the following steps: the diameter is 20 pixels, the angle is -170, the circular degree is 20% and the space between is 500%.

Use the pen tool to draw the line of crease. Execute the stroke path order to outline the brush. Diffuse it to make an unedged effect. If the effect is too obvious, we can execute the fade-out to degrade some effects.

Add the layer style of bevel and emboss to make a stereo effect, and remember to use the dodge tool and burn tool alternatively to make the picture more real.

We often appreciate the certain effect of some fascinating and stunning advertisements or posts. It is also common to be curious about how they make magic. Today we will learn some skills about the brush tool. Now let’s begin! The following is the ultimate impression drawing.

1. Build a new document with a black color background, and then build a new layer and try to draw out the following effect.

2. Build another layer and choose the brush tool of a specific effect (lightmap effect), then draw the track of such effect.

3. Build a third layer and choose an appropriate color in order to use the rainbow effect on the layer.

4. Press the CTRL key and click the layer with the crescent pattern. Meanwhile, press CTRL+SHIFT together to load the layer with lightmap effect into the same electoral district.

5. After that, choose the button of add and layer mask, now the following effect appears.

6. Then add the parameters for both the two layers. We choose outer glow as its basic style, the mixed model is overlapping, and the opaqueness is 75% with a mild picture element and enlarge it to 12%. After that, execute Gaussian Blur of 4 pixels in the layer mask mode, which turns out to be a dreamlike effect.

7. Build a new layer with your favorite color and choose the radial gradients from foreground to transparency. And apply such gradient to a small district in this layer and again you should set the layer style, overlapping mixed model with white color, and the opaqueness is 100%, and at last you should lower the padding to 64% or so.

8. Create a new layer and decorate it with the brush tool and dauber, modify the layer style according to the preceding step.

9. Copy the layer of lightmap and use the dauber to have an overall modification, thus making it more dynamic!
